My favourite looking model from the bunch is the base model with the blacked out grille and steelie rims. I think there's something unique to a vehicle that looks so barebones. And as much as I think the starting price of $25k is reasonable, that's quite a bit higher than most other mid size rivals.

I think there is a good chance that a lot of early interest will be in the base model. Anyone who's currently looking at the new Ranger, is in the market for a cheaper work truck. But they have limited its appeal by not offering a standard cab configuration.

I don't think its pricing will deter interest in the slightest. The nameplate is well established in NA, and I think we'll be seeing a lot of owners from the previous generation making the switch. It is substantially larger than the previous model, but that's been a pretty standard change across the segment.

Wranglers start around $27,000 in the US and unless Ford proves they can one-up Jeep, undercutting the Wrangler will help gain them some attention and sales. This being based on the Focus platform, they might not have a choice.

If they cant beat them on price, then they'll have to deliver more utility. Better towing capacity and more cargo space could go a long way for consumer interest.

Only the baby Bronco variant is based upon the Focus platform, and its the new Active crossover, not the hatchback/sedan. And that model is going to compete more with the Renegade than the Wrangler, which starts at $20k.
