Could the Bronco Bury the Raptor?

With the Bronco expected to make a return to Ford's lineup sometime in the next 5 years is there really room for two dedicated off-road products?

We suppose this question comes down to which platform Ford decides on for the Bronco reincarnate. Should Ford go with something Ranger sized there should be enough gap between the two.

But what if Ford decides the Bronco should share with the F-150?

That could pose a problem for the Raptor, as the two would ostensibly offer similar capabilities. Granted the Raptor is more pre-runner then rock-smasher, but how much appetite is there for ultra-niche products within the same showroom?

And what about pricing. The Bronco could most certainly be a premium margin stuffer for Ford, based on existing platforms the derivative could be a pure profit play.

That's if it even exists at all...

THe Bronco wuold be full enclosed and seat more people, and the Raptor would be a truck, so I think there would still be enough space between them.

^ This. they would offer similar capabilities but if someone wanted a truck bed for hauling things then they would go for the Raptor. For more seating space the Bronco would be better.

LOL, you guys know the Raptor has been offered in CrewCab since year 2? So your argument about size is moot, if not irrelevant, because the Raptor will seat the same amount of people MORE comfortably, and offer more carrying space... Bed caps are cheap if you need to enclose the bed...

Would it not be a better comparison between the F-120 and the Raptor instead of the Bronco?

Fact remains that on e is a truck and the other is a SUV.

Bronco just acts as a small alternative, there still will be space for the Raptor, there always will be.

Then the Raptor won't get buried if there's always going to be space for the Raptor.

But how big is the market within one manufacturer model lineup for two trucks offering the same capability, just one that's a foot longer? They're going to compete for the same pool of buyers.
