Ford Bronco Montana Lobo Concept: Rewind

Not sure if any of you guys remember this old Ford Bronco concept that had its debut back in the 80's. There weren't many specs released for it, but it was believed to be powered by a 133 horsepower 5.0-liter V8. It had a glass sliding rear door and side mounted exhaust pipes. The bubble doors were removable, as was its t top. Wonder if Ford will consider revisiting a pickup variant of the Bronco in the future.

Not surprised that this thing never saw production. It looks like a similar approach to what Subaru did with the Brat. I don't know if Ford will want to release an internal competitor to their best selling F150 though.

I like that now we have the Ford Ranger and its higher performing Raptor version. Only thing I woulad care for from this concept are those side louvers done similar to the new Colorado

This thing looks more like a toy car than an actual pickup. Would love to see a pickup with a bench seat in the bed try and pass todays safety standards lol. Side mounted exhaust is pretty neat, but I don't think it would take long for someone to burn their legs getting in and out.

I think if anything it just proves that Ford has the ability to make original designs, and hopefully we see them move away from the cookie cutter approach for the Bronco. Really hope that even the baby variant isn't just another EcoSport.

Ford has proven it with the Mustang. The 90's were a real miss but as we stepped into the 2000's things turned around a lot and ever since Ford shows they understand what Ford customers always wanted.

The sales of the Mustang speak for themselves, though most of the changes we've seen over the past few years have been fairly subtle. Out of all their vehicles to pull from for the Bronco, I think the off road tech found in the new Ranger is most likely.

Can't wait to test it for myself and see what actually comes to market.

I know the new Ranger upgraded to coil springs and I bet if it wasn't for the new Bronco coming out it would have been leaf springs.

Ford had to make updates to the Ranger when they decided to bring it back stateside. Toyota has taken a lot of the market share in its absence and their new TRD Pro lineup, while pricey is looking very capable.

They aren't very good looking if you ask me. I know Toyota has never been at the forefront of sleek designs but the new Camry is a big step forward for that platform. You aren't wrong about the prices, the new Tundra is only $900 less than a Raptor.
