Bronco may not be coming to Australia

It looks like Ford may not be offering the upcoming Bronco as a global model, at least not for those down under. Apparently they don't feel like there will be much demand for it, due to the popularity of the Ranger there. I hope that this doesn't mean availability could differ elsewhere.

Australia has a very competitive off road segment, so I can see why Ford has some hesitations about launching there. This wont have any impact on the availability of this model in Europe or the U.S though. They could always just release the smaller 'baby' variant there to see what interest is like.

I do find that a little odd, as I remember that when the Bronco was first announced to be in development, Ford mentioned it was being directly developed there, because of their expertise with the T6. It's not like they will really compete with each other, as obviously the Ranger is more of a work vehicle.

There are rare cases where vehicles aren't sold in the country that they are manufactured in. Though it does seem a bit premature for Ford to already be contemplating availability.

Ford should start to slowly drop teasers for the Bronco, to see what the response/interest is like for it. Then they can begin to determine where exactly their consumer base will come from.

Not hard to understand their customer base because they've seen it with the Toyota FJ Cruiser and always seen it with Wranglers. Also SUV buyers want more of a purist SUV, not these car-based types that keep showing up. Plus, when last has Ford launched a product that flopped?

The EcoSport lol. That model continues to struggle against much more capable rivals, at least in NA. The new Ranger looks promising but I think the Raptor variant is way overpriced.

Despite what the reviews say, the EcoSport is still selling fairly well. Last year it sold something like 60k units, so with a proper refresh we could see those numbers climb even higher.

That's the great thing about that segment. Price is the biggest motivator to buy and the EcoSport is an easy decision. Too bad it took this long for overseas models to make it over.
American car buyer needs are now becoming more in line with Europeans.

If the EcoSport is indeed selling that well with its measly 1.0l, a proper powerplant would go a long way in making it more competitive. And in terms of pricing the EcoSport is one of the more expensive options in the segment.
