Ford Bronco Operation Fearless

Just came across this awesome custom Bronco project dubbed Operation Fearless. Its a 1991 model that was built to honor Adam Brown, a Navy Seal that was killed in Afghanistan. Its powered by a 5.0L Mustang GT engine, that's rated at 435hp and 400lb-ft of torque. Its mated to a Transzilla F56 6 speed manual and features a Warn winch, LED lighting, new front and rear axels and Nitto mud tires. Its got a full racing roll cage, ammo storage boxes, racing seats and custom dash that was meant to resemble a military aircraft.

I was wondering why the dash looked similar and now I know why, it has all the switches and a screen similar to what you'd find in an older more plane. Nice touch with those strap clasps as well holding the glove box and hood down.

Great project but to me one major flaw is the color. Sand (or whatever its called) doesn't exactly flow well with a project that features military aircraft bits. Instead it should have colors that you'd typically see on fighter jets.

That's a pretty impressive looking project, and I love all the attention to detail in the cabin. I'm assuming they had to make some adjustments to the hood to accommodate the new engine? Because those arches aren't found in the regular models. Would love to hear what it sounds like with that 5 liter.

The 38x15.50 Nitto Mud Grapplers are beautiful! Didn't really pay much attention until I found a picture of those wheels close up. Not really something I'd ever need with a lack of mud in my area, but one has to appreciate those treads.

The tires are one of the nicest aspects of this truck for sure, but I'm assuming they had to put in a substantial lift kit to accommodate them. I hope Ford is considering offering some sort of off road trim/package that comes with a factory lift and more rugged wheels.

I think there's a very good chance we'll see off road variants of the Bronco and fingers crossed one of them is a Raptor with some additional power as well. Pretty disappointed with what Ford has showcased with the new Ranger Raptor though, as it doesn't seem to live up to expectations set by the F150 model.

i agree.

Ford has been pushing its Ford Performance division hard over the years and IMO they would be doing themselves a disservice if the Bronco just remains plain jane.

Ford is also oddly enough choosing to offer the engine from the new Ranger Raptor in the lower trims of the Ranger and Everest as well. Imo this just gives less incentive to go with the top of the line trim. Could easily get some aftermarket mods to spruce up the base models.

A little birdy told me they will be offering some factory performance options if the buyer chooses including a lift kit up to 4". Source works for Ford but rumor is just that he said after returning from a Ford management summit. But I dont want to give credence to that as it is just rumors but a rumor within Ford. Take that with a grain of salt.
