Coyote Crate Engine Inside A Bronco

What do you do when you want more power under the hood of your 1966 Ford Bronco? Well John Carnahan's answer to that was to stuff a Ford Motorsports aluminum Coyote crate engine under the hood in place of the old 302 V-8.

He went to Lamb Fab for help in trying to make the wider engine under the hood, this required a few modifications to the body including the fenderwells, front cowl, steering shaft, and front driveshaft. Partnering this engine is a six-speed auto tranny taken from a 2013 F-150.

The end result is a Bronco with 400-plus hp with six speeds. These kinds of mods are the core of bronco enthusiasts and a lot more interesting to read about.

They had to fabricate a custom mount for the engine to fit but for the most part they took a quite a few parts from the F-150. Maybe something to think about for future mods of old Broncos. Also could apply to the new Bronco (if it comes out) and the newer F-150 models.

Surprised there was no mention of motor mounts being different since it's wider, that's typically one of the main things.

Isn't that the same as the engine mount they mentioned?
