Well the 2.3L Ecoboost found in the Mustang is paired to a 6 speed manual, but that engine has been found to be a little lacking. It also required premium fuel to even deliver on the advertised power. +300hp and torque should be adequate for the Bronco though.

I mean its not purely a numbers game, and the Bronco will surely deliver power differently from the Mustang. It is odd that they teased the mini Bronco weeks ago and never fully unveiled the concept. Though I'm not expecting that variant to look much different than some of the renderings we've seen.

We still have a while to wait because the Bronco is expected to come out as a 2020 or 2021 model, meaning the earliest debut should be next year. Do wish they would release bits of info here and there to keep people interested, or maybe an initial prototype at least.

At this point I think people would even be happy just to see a physical concept, because for the most part all we've seen are renderings. Jeep is going to have quite a few new models on the market by this time, and there's a chance that some of them may even be electric, according to FCA's 5 year plan.

Just a glimpse of a test mule will be the stuff of dreams at this point. The suspense is killing me and I can't wait to see what's under the cover of that concept they revealed way back.

For me it got even more exciting when Ford announced all the changes they will be making to the brand which in turn mean changes for the next Bronco, although those changes are more on sedans. Components like engines and transmissions are what apply to us from that.
