Ford Bronco Finally Confirmed Thanks To Trump

That’s right, Donald Trump was the one to get us the confirmation we’ve all been waiting for.

Ford announced their plans to move the production of its Focus and C-Max sedans and from their Michigan assembly plant to Mexico after 2018 in an effort to lower production costs and Trump has been quick to attack the automaker for it. He claims that Ford is sending jobs out of the country and those employed at the Michigan plant will lose their jobs.

This spurred the American automaker to defend themselves by first stating that no jobs will be lost because of the two new models that will be built at the Michigan plant. Of course, Trump completely overlooked Ford’s continued defense of their move and their promise to maintain its U.S. jobs.

Maybe Bill Johnson, chairman of UAW local 900, finally had enough of Trump because he was the one who gave us the confirmation. Speaking to the Detroit Free Press, Johnson said: "We hate to see the products go to Mexico, but with the Ranger and the Bronco coming to Michigan Assembly that absolutely secures the future for our people a lot more than the Focus does."

The production move won’t happen until 2018 and before the Bronco can go into production, the Michigan assembly plant will probably need to be retooled for the new models so we still have a while to wait before the new Bronco hits showroom floors.

Ah... I guess this is sort of the only "good" thing he can get credit for....? Maybe...

Nah, still not good enough.

The Bronco just better sell in good volume otherwise the whole benefit it has around jobs won't last long. It's always going to be the models that have stood the test of time that will ensure jobs for Americans for the life of that vehicle's production time line.

I'm sure the bronco enthusiasts will be all over the newer model and those who grew up riding in the back seat of one will want to at least give it a chance and test ride it.

The only good thing Trump has done since the whole election started.

Pretty much.. If sales don't work out, that plant is just gonna get shut down and it's kind of pointless.

It'll be one of those A for Effort things

Unless of course it's a plant that serves multiple purposes but with the way things are going Ford seems to have all bases covered, we've seen most models get refreshed. All we have going on for the next 3-5 years are small updates and then after that 4 year mark some mid-cycle refreshes.

If Trump becomes president then maybe there will be more manufacturing jobs out there, easy for these folks to transition to.
