If the Wrangler could do well for so many years then it shows what the market wants.
Plus Toyota sells land cruisers in many parts of the world without issue, leaving platforms to be used that aren't utilized in North America.

The Wrangler does well in NA, because its pretty much unrivaled in the segment and has been for years. It's for that reason that we've seen the MRSP continue to climb without much resistance.

Yeah and it even dips into other segments due to pricing. Very easy for even a first time buyer spending under $30k to get one. I see a lot of these on college/university campuses and of course even much older demographics dig it. It's the last "real" SUV for the average joe.

I do think there would be a lot of consideration for a proper rival, because as popular as the Wrangler is, I feel like there are plenty of people who would love the same level of utility without FCA's reliability issues. A lower cost of ownership could easily sway owners.

It really didn't take long before we saw some examples of brand new JL's catching on fire lol. Obviously this has been a rare case so far, but it's not exactly reassuring during the launch of a new model.
