If they do a manual one, I want a floor shifter like the old school one.

Ford is bringing back the bronco badge, not the old school models itself. They'll definitely go with a shifter in the center console, but lets hope they stay away from shift knobs in the automatic variants.

Lol @Alfalfa , those were the good days, but unfortunately my friend, highly doubt it's gonna happen. You may be able to get away with throwing some lightning rod shifters through a custom fab shop

But I definitely don't like shift knobs on them automatics Just looks all sorts of weird. But then you have the guys that go a step further and put a shift boot on it too haha !

better enjoy it while we can the next iteration might just have buttons we press on some touch screen to select the modes we want for all we know. I just hope they keep it as "raw" as possible because like a lot of car makers there will be big changes to come the next time around. Still some time to be traditional.

I honestly don't see that kind of system being too far off down the line. First they'll probably implement a not as exotic push button mode selector, and then the touch screen interface

I hate those shift knobs, makes me feel like I don't know where D or R is. With the traditional stick, I've memorized where each position is and don't need to look down to know which gear I'm in.

Not knobs, I meant dials. These things are a pain to use.

Maybe the Toyota FT-4X can be competition for the Bronco. Toyota registered a trademark for FT-4X last year and 4X most likely stands for four-wheel drive. This was around the time when the Jeep Wrangler and Bronco hype was high, also their FJ Cruiser production ended at the 2014 model year so it could use a replacement.

That is definitely a possibility, and they would be a good company to look at but it all depends on when it plans to be rolled out. The Bronco should be here in a couple of years.

In regards to the shift knob thing, I don't mind them at all. Can't see the pain in using them. What about it makes it a pain for you?
