Crazy to see how much of a culture shift there is now to rugged SUV's to the point that even Suzuki came out with one although in a segment that sits under the Jeep Renegade. Oh and Jeep wants to come out with something that sits under the Renegade, can you guess what that is?

I mean the Jimny has been around since the 70's, and they continue to be one of the most popular off roaders in Europe. I can't believe that Jeep is bringing out and even less capable model than the Renegade, when I didn't think it was doing too well sales wise.

^^^I agree. I was always under the assumption the only Jeeps that sell are the Wrangler and Cherokee. How many have they produced that didn't meet the sales benchmark?......Liberty, Compass, Commander, Patriot, etc. I just assumed the Renegade would be next on the list. I can't imagine there is a need for something smaller than that?!?!? Com'on on Jeep...have some self-respect and at least manufacture it with a Dodge/Chrysler nameplate. The previous failed Jeep models have already tarnished the Jeep name. I'm surprised they haven't all but discontinued every Jeep vehicle except the Wrangler. Jeep is already practically synonymous with Wrangler. I know they still make the Cherokee but anything other than a Wrangler just saturates the legacy to me. But I recognize they tried to skirt off "coat-tails" of the Wrangler's sales with those models but in doing so they've undermined what Jeep represents. Ford, I hope you're paying attention. Please dont make a Bronco II or baby Bronco.

Lol Ford has already confirmed the Baby Bronco and that's what we've seen in the teaser pics/renderings. Though I think that's simply what they are using to refer to the two door model. From what we've seen it does look pretty similar in size to that of a Renegade or EcoSport. Though I don't know why they would want to create their own internal competitor. And haven't you heard about the upcoming $100k Wagoneer aha.

Truth is, no one has regardless of what has been reported. However what we shouldn't ignore is when new platforms, powertrains and drivetrain components come out that could be relevant to this segment. Odds are some of those will end up in the Bronco.

I believe Ford just announced that they will be offering a smaller rugged crossover, and the likes or Motor1 and Autoblog have made the assumption that its a smaller Bronco variant. They've only released the one teaser image thus far, and it could just as easily be a new trim for the Ecosport.

This is what I'm thinking. I dont believe Ford would be foolish again to use the Bronco nameplate for anything other than itself.

Yeah I don't really see the point in offering a smaller Bronco variant anyways, as that's just going to cause internal competition with some of their other CUV's. And I don't know if Ford understands what a teaser is, because that image was released months ago now.

We probably wont get a confirmation of anything until the next auto show, or perhaps Ford plans on making their own private announcement. I do hope that once its fully unveiled that we get to see more than just a static image.
