Air Roof on the Bronco

Leftlane News posted that he Bronco will be available with a removable roof, much like the Renegade, with up to six removable panels individually stored in the trunk and it will be called "Air Roof"

That sounds pretty cool and all, but I'm not too sure if it's something I would want in this ?

6 removable panels sounds a bit much.. I really don't care for it, I'd be good with a simple sunroof to be honest. Doubt I would be removing the panels even if it came with it standard.

Depends on how easy it is to remove the roof and what the Bronco would look like without the roof. This is probably done to be more competitive with Jeep, but they have to make it look natural. Maybe I'll be interested, but it depends on the overall design.

I'm not going to be able to make any sort of concrete decision until I see what the design of this Bronco actually looks like. I may end up liking it and think it'll be useful, I may just hate it completely.

Well that's true too. Need to see what the framing will look like when the panels are off, all of that good stuff.. Boy am I getting antsy to see the Bronco!

I'm imagining something similar to this, but with the three rear window panes removed to leave a square frame behind and the top roof panes removed too. This is just concept, but we could see a similar frame shape.

That would be pretty cool.. kinda reminds me of something you would take into the safari lol. Splitting it up into 6 pieces would be the interesting part. A lot of different combinations of an open roof could come out of that for your convenience.

If Ford does go with easily removable panels, they'll also have to assume that people will put them in the trunk so we should see a large cargo area. Preferably large enough so the panels can just lay down flat.

That's what the link says. Individually removable and store in the trunk.

I'd like to know if they'll be full plastic panels or if they'll be painted body color.

What surprises me is that off all vehicles to debut this on its going to be the Bronco. Meanwhile you have other products that could better aid in this launch, the Escape being of them.

As much as it can be seen as leverage, I doubt the Bronco needs this as leverage.
